Maryland's Smoking Cessation Resource Center Selects LMD to Launch Website

LAUREL, MD – December 1, 2006 – Maryland's Smoking Cessation Resource Center Selects LMD to Lauch Website.

The Maryland Quitting Use & Initiation of Tobacco (MDQuit) Resource Center has partnered with LMD to design, develop, and launch the center's new comprehensive website, MDQuit.org.

"The effort to prevent and end smoking starts with information sharing," said Sarah Pugh, LMD's president. "We're proud to assist MDQuit in its effort to create a comprehensive website for tobacco that enables healthcare professionals to share smoking prevention and cessation resources and tools."

Funded by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, MDQuit serves as the State of Maryland's primary resource center for tobacco use cessation and prevention. The center is located on the campus of University of Maryland Baltimore County.

LMD designed MDQuit.org as an easy-to-use information hub that provides an online forum for discussion of smoking cessation and prevention best practices. MDQuit.org links healthcare professionals and providers to tobacco initiatives throughout Maryland, enabling them to provide effective, evidence-based smoking cessation and prevention resources.
