LMD Takes Home Four ADDY Awards

LAUREL, MD – April 13, 2009 – LMD, a full-service marketing and advertising firm, received four ADDY Awards at the 2009 ADDY Awards ceremony held at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore on April 2.

The ADDY Awards is the largest creative advertising competition in the U.S. with over 60,000 local entries competing in 15 districts across the United States. Conducted by the American Advertising Federation, the Addys represent all forms of advertising, from entrants of all levels around the world. It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry.

"These awards are a testament to our team's hard work, creative vision, and dedication to our clients. We are honored to be recognized among so many talented advertising and design firms," said Sarah Pugh, LMD's president. "I'm proud of our team and we look forward to developing more award-winning creative in 2009."

LMD took home a gold award in the Industry Self-Promotion, Collateral category, for its branded capabilities kit, which includes an image brochure, interactive CD, and case studies, all housed in a handcrafted wooden presentation box. The piece delivers LMD's message and capabilities and serves as a physical representation of LMD's internal philosophy and focus on corporate social responsibility. All packaging and presentation materials are made from organic, recycled products.

In the Brochure category, LMD won a silver award for the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business Full-time MBA Program Brochure, which features ambassadors of the school and their success stories. The piece serves as a recruitment tool, showing prospective students what they can accomplish with a Smith MBA, and as an overall marketing piece, continuing to establish Smith as a premier, top-ranked business school.

LMD scored a silver award in the Online, Emails/E-cards category for its interactive holiday e-card greeting for the University of Maryland, College Park. The online experience features several interactive components such as photo galleries, videos, and a customizable e-card, allowing recipients to send the card on to others. This piece was developed to enhance the UM brand and to initiate a viral marketing technique for continued distribution.

In the Consumer/Trade Campaign (Color) category, LMD won a silver award for its Trollbeads image campaign for Lund Trading, which features heroic imagery showcasing the craftsmanship and quality of the jewelry. The campaign served as the foundation for all national marketing and sales materials, contributing to brand recognition and company growth.
