About the Client
The National Foreign Language Center (NFLC) works to define the nation's current and future language needs and helps build the capacity to meet those needs through research, collaboration, consultation, and projects. NFLC's staff and fellows are dedicated to improving the nation's ability to communicate with people around the world and manage the flow of information resulting from globalization.
Challenge
Create a comprehensive, accessible "virtual" resource center for those involved in serious language study, including scholars, private industry consultants, policy makers, and students.
Use the website to position NFLC as a national authority on cutting-edge learning systems and commonly taught languages.
Solution
Organized the site's vast amount of information through intuitive, logical architecture.
Implemented an easy-to-use content management system (CMS) that allows NFLC staff to easily update the site with new projects and initiatives.
Gave the site an approachable, contemporary look-and-feel through choice of color palette, template design, and graphic elements.
Used stock photography and Flash to emphasize the value and excitement of learning foreign languages and cultures.
Technology
This site was developed using LMD's e2 Website Framework. Written in PHP, this framework allows sites to be deployed on any server supporting PHP.
